To make the Lynchburg apple crisp, mix sugar, 3 tablespoons flour and cinnamon in a large bowl. Add the apples and Jack Daniel’s and stir until the apples are evenly coated with the sugar mixture.

Place the apples in the greased baking dish. Mix one cup of flour, salt, and brown sugar in a medium bowl. Add butter in pieces until coarse crumbles form. Stir in rolled oats and nuts and sprinkle the crumble mixture over the apples.

Bake the Apple Crisp for 30-35 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.

Serve the Lynchburg apple Crisp without garnish, with ice cream, custard or the famous Jack Daniel’s caramel sauce.

Preparation Tip:

Preheat your oven to 175 °C and grease an approx. 30 x 20 cm baking dish.
