For the chocolate banana cake, cream butter and sugar, then stir in eggs. Mix flour, baking powder, cornflour, pudding powder and coffee powder and stir into the egg-sugar-butter mixture. Now stir in the milk. Empty the batter into a springform pan. Cut the bananas into centimeter-thick slices, place them on the batter and let them sink in.
Bake the cake in the preheated oven at 180 °C for about 40 minutes. You can find out whether the cake is done by using the needle test: To do this, insert a knitting needle into the cake and pull it out again – the dough should no longer stick to the needle.
Allow the finished chocolate banana cake to cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
